In October 2025, Sotiris Barbarosos took on one of his most demanding and symbolic missions: crossing the open sea by kayak from Patras to Athens (around 110 nautical miles), dedicating every mile to the fight against breast cancer.
The Mission
The mission was carried out in partnership with the Hellenic Red Cross, marking World Breast Cancer Day (October 25). From the 22nd to the 25th of October, Sotiris crossed the sea with constant support and heightened safety measures — a paraglider, a lifeboat and a Red Cross jet ski.
The Route
The route passed through Patras, Nafpaktos, Xylokastro and Loutraki, finishing in Glyfada with an open celebration of life. Alongside, the Red Cross Mobile Health Team offered free information, breast self-examination training and counseling support.
The Message
Every stop was a reminder that a simple preventive screening can make the difference.
