We Embrace Every Route
An action inspired and carried out by Sotiris Barbarosos, Panagiotis and little Loukia for the “GALILAIA” Palliative Care Unit.
Sotiris Barbarosos, together with Panagiotis and little Loukia, joined forces in a staggering 24-hour challenge of swimming, cycling and running. Their shared inspiration was to symbolically “embrace” the difficult life struggle of patients and their families, actively supporting the precious work of the GALILAIA Palliative Care Unit.
The Route
The three athletes covered a total distance of 150 kilometers — 1.4 miles of swimming, 80 km of cycling and 70 km of running — passing through the 8 municipalities of the Holy Metropolis of Mesogaia & Lavreotiki: Saronikos, Koropi, Paiania, Pallini, Spata-Artemida, Rafina-Pikermi, Markopoulo and Lavreotiki.
Throughout the route, Sotiris Barbarosos guided and inspired the team with faith, focus and dedication to their common goal — to turn sport into a message of love, hope and strength.
How It Began
The start of “We Embrace Every Route” was given with a symbolic 1 km run, where Sotiris Barbarosos, together with Panagiotis and little Loukia, ran alongside children, volunteers and friends of GALILAIA.
The participation of dozens of students, families and members of the local community turned the moment into a celebration of unity and giving.
It was a day when togetherness, love and hope took shape, showing that every small act can make a difference.
The Message
Through “We Embrace Every Route,” Sotiris Barbarosos wanted to prove that true strength is not measured in kilometers, but in souls — that when people unite for a common purpose, love and solidarity can overcome any difficulty.
Together with Panagiotis and little Loukia, they turned sport into an act of humanity, showing that every struggle — however hard — can become a path of hope when we walk it together.
This journey was not only physical; it was a journey of the heart, full of faith, emotion and hope for tomorrow.
“True strength is not measured in kilometers, but in souls.”
